VESTIGIOS DECOR MIX

Stratigraphy – an area of geology that studies rock layers and traces in geological formations through time – inspired this collection. From samples extracted from real excavation processes, Vestiges translates to the ceramics the silent presence of the geological layers in their raw materiality. The base model (120x120 cm) references limestone with subtle signs of fossilized materials, while the decorative modules reinterpret the cores– rock cylinders extracted during drilling for samples. These three-dimensional pieces of architectural concrete (5x50 cm) feature a view of the cross-section of the cores, bringing to the surface what can only be seen inside. The result is a collection that evokes the magnitude of time and connects past, present and future.
